Warehouse Assistant
Your responsibilities will include shipping out daily orders via FedEx, ABF, and First Class mail, as well as some International 3rd party companies, receiving incoming inventory and deliveries, running errands for company including deliveries of company orders, weekly inventory, building maintenance and upkeep, keeping flow racks stocked, and keeping warehouse clean and organized.
Applicants should have at least 1 year of experience in logistics and possess great organizational skills. Fork lift certification is a plus.
- Receive and unload goods and materials using forklifts
- Validate material/goods received to purchase order and initiate corrective action for any variances.
- Initiate site freight claim process for any damaged materials
- Locate and store material within site policies and practices.
- Pull inventory requests and follow ‘Deliver To’ instructions for required actions.
- Perform cycle counts on a daily basis or as required
- Forklift operation of sit-down units
- Perform routine safety inspections and general housekeeping procedures for work area.
- Basic computer skills – data input, delivery and training records
- Observe all applicable company policies, state and federal laws
Job Requirements:
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of related experience.
- Basic understanding of warehouse inventory control systems, and purchase orders
- Have knowledge of maintaining inventory control within a warehouse, embrace public relations/customer service principles, practices and techniques.
- Follow safety practices and recognize hazards
- Operate a variety of light equipment, hand trucks and vehicles within a warehouse environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in English
